The Voice of One Crying “In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand!” For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness; prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.” Matthew 3:1-3 The Lord is raising up the John the Baptist generation. He is calling all of us to be part of that company. A people who He calls “friends of the Bridegroom” (Jn. 15:15, 2Cor. 11:2) who prepare the Bride of Christto know Him intimately, in truth (through His Word) and love (experientially by His Spirit). Ones with fervency to declare without reserve to all would hear ‘ “Repent” and turn from your own ways.” Those who go forth actively teaching and demonstrating the principles of the Kingdom as Jesus did (Mathew 4:17 and Mt. 5-7) A company on a mission for “the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Are you feeling the shakings within and around? Is the Lord digging you deeper in this season? Is there a “divine frustration” and yet a great anticipation as well within your soul and spirit? Have your ears heard the news of the nations? The natural news grows more devastating, but God is unfolding His plan. There is no doubt that the Lord’s Hand is moving across His people, and preparing the world to know His Glory – in awesome fear and reverence. It is a wilderness time as the Lord is drawing many to “that place.” May we hear “Repent” and allow a searching of our hearts and motives so that His Kingdom may be manifest through us without reserve. And may we, with the passion of John, also be that Voice to others, that they may meet the Lord at the Jordan. Jordan means “descending.” With a heart of humility the Lord is drawing those with bowed hearts, to come to the waters to be washed, and baptized, and cross over. We are the generation to “prepare the way of the Lord, and make His paths straight” (Is. 40:3-5) and soon the Glory of the Lord shall be revealed. Remain steadfast and encouraged. Rev. Sharon E.
